RSBSYSPRINGKAL WRAP UP

RSBSYSPRINGKAL WRAP UP

Hey guys! How've you all been this last week?  As you may, know last week we wrapped up our very first RSBSYSpringKAL in our Ravelry group.  All of the finished objects were awesome.  We had just a little bit of everything: socks, shawls, cardi's and sweaters.

A really good friend of mine knit her very first shawl and she really didn't believe she would have it knit in time to qualify for the KAL.  We both knit a two skein Easy Peasy 2.0 and she beat me by WEEKS.

Unfortunately we only had one prize to give away this time around and it went to Ethello

for her gorgeous Asne shawl in one of our 2016 Spring Sock Club colours, Queenie.  How beautiful is this girl?  Ethello won a $25 gift certificate to the Red Sock Blue Sock Yarn store and I can't wait to see what she knits up next.

Seeing RSBSY go from bare bones to these gorgeous pieces always blows my mind.  Being on this side of things, I'm always wondering what a skein of yarn is going to be and how it's going to speak to me or to one of you guys.  When I get to see your finished project it really does bring me a tremendous amount of joy.  For this reason I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you guys for buying our yarn and getting involved in our community.  You guys are the reason doing this job is so much fun!

Before I leave you for this week, let me take a quick moment to tell you about my Easy Peazy 2.0 shawl. This pattern is free on Ravelry and calls for it to be knit with DK on a size 6 needle.  I kept the size 6 needle and opted for two skeins of our Comfort Sock yarn.  This girl is enormous with a wingspan 180cm length of 94cm.  I was left with 24 grams of yarn in the end.  I sort of debated about adding a bit to the lace panel but, to be honest, those purl rows were starting to kill me.  That being said she is definitely a new favourite.   Ashley knows if it's blue or purple I'll knit it, but this Midnight Garden colour way is so vibrant you would have to see it in person to really appreciate it.  If I'm completely honest with you, after our show season this year I'm definitely hoping to see a bunch of these popping up in our Ravelry Finished Objects thread. What do you guys think?

Thats all I've got for today folks!  HAPPY KNITTING!
